The subject for my photo essay is the beautiful side of New York City. I selected this place because I always went to New York with my mother and the good times we had makes it more special every time I visit. I enjoy every part of the city, from Central Park all the way to Times Square. I decided to spell out the words "New York City" and display the beauty of it rather than urban decay. The images are show the beauty of the city, like the tree in central park, or the Brooklyn. All of my pictures capture the story that was trying to portrait because none of the photos include any negative subjects. Rather than taking pictures of the graffiti on the walls or the decaying food on the sidewalks, I chose to take photos of bridges and trees. They also tell a story by spelling out the name of the place. The photos are arranged in the order of the letters that spell out New York City. They are all taken on a straight angle. All of the photos are black and white and create a dark mood. I unified my series of photos by spelling out a word and changing them all to the same colors.
